UNITEDs information projects are created following the wishes of the conference delegates and the network organisations. They are aimed at supporting the practical information flow to support the struggle against racism. As UNITED is based on a non-hierarchical network model, information is key to the functioning of the movement. Developments in recent years have broadened the possibilities of spreading information, through e-mail and the World Wide Web. However, many NGOs do not have access to computers or the internet. Many even do not have offices that are reachable every day. Faxes are becoming more commonplace, but not for everyone. Paper may seem old-fashioned, but it is still the only way some of the groups can be reached. Using all means of communication to their fullest is a basic necessity for the network.
