Purpose of the EYF is to encourage co-operation among young people in Europe by providing financial support to such European youth activities which serve the promotion of peace, understanding and co-operation in a spirit of respect for the Council of Europe's fundamental values such as human rights, democracy, tolerance and solidarity.

European Action Week Against Racism
“OPEN YOUR MIND - SPEAK OUT AGAINST RACISM”

The General assembly of the United Nations declared 21 March the 'International Day for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination'. This day was implemented as a reaction to the murder of 69 anti-apartheid demonstrators in Sharpeville, South Africa, in 1960. Apartheid was a legal system of racial segregation enforced by the government of South Africa between 1948 and 1994.

Join forces with the European anti-racism movement!
UNITED coordinates the European-wide Action Week Against Racism. Activists, NOG's, universities, schools, municipalities and a wide variety of different organisations carry out hundreds of activities all over Europe in order to make a change. Through the actions implemented during the annual campaign thousands of people actively engage themselves for tolerance, equal rights and celebrate the diversity of Europe.
Take part in our Campaign!
